It’s always nice to get a bit of good news. Just heard through a writer friend, the wonderful Marsha Skrypuch, that A Pod of Orcas is Fitzhenry and Whiteside’s number one selling title…and that includes both adult and children’s books! Hurray! Not only that, but Orca Books number one seller is another one of my picture books, Jessie’s Island, which has been a continuous best seller for the last 19 years!

Well done! And I so love the look of your Pod of Orcas, seaside counting book! 19 years is something to be proud of in the children’s book world!

Thanks Joanna. A Pod of Orcas is only 5 years old, but Jessie’s Island has reached the age of majority, and I have a book that has been in print even longer (Waiting for the Whales has been in print for 20 years now) …kind of cool to be into a second generation of readers!
