Children’s Literature Roundtable September 27 2017

Local author Robin Stevenson will discuss her latest book, Pride: Celebrating Diversity and Community. Pride is a finalist for the 2017 Bolen Books Children’s Book Prize. It’s also a 2017 Stonewall Honor book, and was selected for the USSBY Outstanding International Books list, the Rainbow List, the Tri-State Review Committee Books of Note and OLA Best Bets. It was a finalist for the Sheila A. Egoff Award and the Red Maple Award, and is shortlisted for the Red Cedar Award, the Hackmatack Award, and the Canadian Children’s Literature Roundtable’s Information Book Award.

Pride is about LGBTQ Pride, its history, and the beautiful, resilient and diverse community that celebrates it.

VCLR Steering Committee members will also book talk some of the titles nominated for the Information Book Award. Voting will take place at the October meeting (Monday, Oct. 23rd).

Doors open at 7 pm; presentation begins at 7:30 pm. Browse books for sale from School House Teaching Supplies and Children’s Bookstore.

The VCLR is open to the public. New members and drop-ins welcome. Members free; $7 drop-in; $5 with valid student card.
