Telling It Straight (With a Few Curves): Writing Nonfiction for Children

Local author Merrie-Ellen Wilcox will describe her experience of writing her first book for children (after 30 years as a writer and editor) and her writing process, and offer a brief brainstorming exercise to get you started on your own process.

VCLR Steering Committee members will also book talk some more of the titles nominated for the Information Book Award. Voting will take place at this meeting.
Doors open at 7 pm; presentation begins at 7:30 pm. Browse books for sale from School House Teaching Supplies and Children’s Bookstore.

The VCLR is open to the public. New members and drop-ins welcome. Members free; $7 drop-in; $5 with valid student card.
