Island Santa in the News

CTV’s Bruce Williams did a short clip on Island Santa a few days ago at Munro’s Books in Victoria. What a treat…reading my new book while being surrounded by some of the best in children’s literature.  Sheen Lott did an awesome job of talking about the illustration process.

A sneak peek at my new book

So excited!  My new picture book will be out this fall…here’s a sneak peek.

Island Santa

So excited.  Seaside Times Magazine used a partial illustration from an upcoming picture book that I’m doing with Sheena Lott as their March cover.  The book will be called Island Santa.  It’s a fictional story based on the late Kaare Norgaard, who annually turned his boat (the Blue Fjord) into a floating Santa sleigh to deliver Christmas gifts to remote gulf island children.  Queen Alexandra Hospital and the Norgaard Foundation will be donating a free book to every family who stay at Jeneece Place (a facility for Island families who must travel to Victoria for medical care).  The book will be released in time for next Christmas.

More to come soon…

1:30 AM but still working

It’s Friday night, or rather Saturday morning.  I’ve been sick with the flu all day, but I have a deadline so I’ve been working anyways.  I think this next picture book is going to be fantastic, and I’m so excited to be working with Sheena Lott and my wonderful editor, Ann Featherstone who is with Pajama Press.
